Wallace Carpets & Flooring: a feed that finally looks like the shop

A family-run flooring shop in Hexham with beautiful work and a busy, mixed-up Instagram. We took over their Facebook and Instagram and gave every post the same calm, confident look as their new brand.

Wallace post: Four worries before a new floor, over a photo of a carpeted landing. Wallace post: 5 reasons to choose herringbone, over a photo of a herringbone hallway. Wallace post: Come and see the new shop, over a photo of the wool carpet display.

The brief

Great floors, quiet feed

Wallace fit carpets, wood, vinyl and laminate across the Tyne Valley. The work is lovely. Their feed didn’t show it.

Posts went up when there was time: phone photos, reshared videos and the odd festive graphic, all in different styles. Then the shop closed for a month to be refurbished and relaunched with a new name and look.

They needed someone to keep customers in the loop while the shop was shut, bring the new brand to their socials, and keep posting properly once the doors reopened.

Before and after

Same shop, new feed

BeforeWallace's Instagram before: a mix of phone photos, reshared TikTok videos and an old shopfront picture, all in different styles.
Posted when there was time, in lots of different styles.
AfterWallace's Instagram after: navy and gold posts with real job photos, the new shop, the reopening and the closure announcement.
Planned, on brand and posted regularly, including the shop's closure and reopening.

How we did it

From lemons to lemonade

  1. Chat

We sat down with the team to learn what they sell, who buys it and the questions customers ask in the shop.

  2. Squeeze

We turned the new brand into a post style: their real job photos, a navy fade, gold details and one headline per post.

  3. Make

Each month we plan and design the posts, carousels and reels, and write captions for Facebook and Instagram separately.

  4. Pour

We post, keep an eye on what people respond to, and use it to shape the next month.

The feed

Every post looks like it belongs

  • Real work, front and centreEvery post uses photos of floors the team has actually fitted, so the feed doubles as a portfolio.
  • Helpful, not salesyGuides, trends and honest answers to the worries people bring into the shop, with the free measure as the gentle next step.
  • One look everywhereSquare versions for Facebook, portrait for Instagram, all in the same navy and gold.

Carousels

Posts people save

Carousels answer the questions customers ask most. This one walks through five reasons to choose herringbone, using photos from two recent jobs.

Reels

Their own jobs, edited to move

We turn the team’s photos and clips into short, calm reels with the same titles and colours as the posts, so even a quick scroll looks like Wallace.
